Online Course Needs Assessment for Small Business Leaders
I developed and conducted a live training session for a subset of organizations considering the feasibility of offering online courses to help their clients meet professional development benchmarks within their industry. The session was delivered as an interactive Zoom webinar.
In this workshop, I guided participants through the process of determining whether an online learning course is the right solution for their organization. I explained the importance of conducting an organizational needs assessment, which serves as the first step in instructional design theory, and demonstrated how to interpret the findings from such an assessment. We explored various types of organizational needs, debunked common misconceptions, and discussed situations where an online course might not be the best fit. The session concluded with a Q&A, offering attendees the opportunity to address specific concerns and explore practical solutions.
