Interactive Process Learning for AI in Education
I designed this interactive process learning experience for a faculty development conference focused on AI in education. This interactive activity guided faculty members through an experiential learning process, helping them understand the evolution of AI in education by highlighting cause-and-effect relationships and key historical milestones.
Rather than a static lecture or pre-recorded video, this interactive timeline allowed faculty to engage directly with the material. Using an independent authoring tool, I developed an interface where participants could explore AI's development over time by clicking on key events. Each interaction revealed contextual insights, illustrating how advancements in computing, policy, and pedagogy influenced AI’s role in education today.
The activity was structured to simulate discovery-based learning—faculty members were invited to predict outcomes, compare past and present applications, and reflect on future implications. This hands-on approach encouraged deeper engagement, critical thinking, and practical takeaways for integrating AI in their own educational settings.
By embedding this process-driven learning activity into the faculty pre-workshop, we ensured participants weren’t just absorbing information—they were actively constructing knowledge. LMS tracking further allowed conference organizers to measure engagement and gain insights into participant learning patterns.
